Authority working on 3 new routes(Metro)

NOIDA: Even as the authorities work out the details for the Metro link to Sector 62 and Greater Noida, preliminary work has already begun on three new proposed corridors. The Authorities of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway have allocated over Rs 10,000 crore for the expansion, adding over 100km to the existing Metro network. Rama Raman, chairman and CEO of the three authorities said the proposed routes are at various stages of development. “Some are at pre-feasibility stage, while for others feasibility is still being determined,” he said. Raman said one proposal is to extend the Blue Line from Noida City Centre into a loop, covering various parts of Noida and Greater Noida. A 66-km-long high-speed Metro corridor from Greater Noida to IGI airport has also been proposed. Officials said a techno-economic feasibility for the proposed 20.6-km Metro track between Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway is also being prepared.
