{"id":454,"date":"2015-03-12T03:38:40","date_gmt":"2015-03-12T03:38:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.ipesas.in\/kb\/?p=454"},"modified":"2015-03-12T03:38:40","modified_gmt":"2015-03-12T03:38:40","slug":"greater-noidas-plan-to-set-up-rs-50cr-heliport-approvedvery-near-to-our-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.ipesas.in\/kb\/greater-noidas-plan-to-set-up-rs-50cr-heliport-approvedvery-near-to-our-site\/","title":{"rendered":"Greater Noida&#8217;s plan to set up Rs 50cr heliport approved\/very near to our site"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GREATER NOIDA: Greater Noida is all set to get a heliport with the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority&#8217;s consultant RITES giving its nod to the project&#8217;s feasibility report.<\/p>\n<p> The heliport will be constructed on a 22-acre plot in Safipur near Gautam Budh University, along the Noida-Greater Noida expressway, said officials.<\/p>\n<p> Estimated to come at a cost of about Rs 50 crore, the heliport was proposed after the international airport project in Jewar was scrapped.<\/p>\n<p> Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had in May 2013 given his nod to the project, which was to get operational last year. After a report by experts stressed on the likelihood of the heliport creating major noise pollution, its location was shifted to near Safipur,<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Some technical issues including the required height while taking off &#8211; up to 4 metres &#8211; for an aircraft, needed to be decided. We will have to raise the ground level for this,&#8221; the official said, adding this may push the project cost. &#8220;Work on the project is expected to start from June,&#8221; the official said.<\/p>\n<p> Likely to get operational by 2017, the heliport will also be used for medical and evacuation emergencies, tourism besides passenger services.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;A detailed project report and other documents will be submitted to the DGCA for their approval,&#8221; the official said.<\/p>\n<p> There are plans for construction of a maintenance facility and a helicopter training academy.
